Blossoms Collection: The Rose

It’s the flower that is associated with love and affection, is featured in many bridal bouquets, and is perfect to give Mom on Mother’s Day. The radiant rose is my final addition to this season’s Blossoms Collection.

The rose is probably one of the most popular of flowers, and comes in a variety of colors - each having its own meaning. Red roses symbolize love and romance. Pink roses symbolize gratitude, grace, admiration, and joy. Orange roses symbolize enthusiasm and passion. Yellow roses symbolize friendship. And white roses symbolize innocence and purity.

And when giving roses to someone, the number of roses given also has a specific meaning as well.

  • One rose symbolizes love at first sight.

  • Two roses symbolize shared and deep love.

  • Three roses says “I love you”.

  • Six roses says “I want to be yours”.

  • Seven roses says “I’m infatuated with you”.

  • Nine roses symbolize eternal love.

  • Ten roses says “You’re perfect”.

This beautiful flower has provided inspiration for centuries. It has deep roots in Greek mythology, where it is said roses originated from the blood of Adonis as he was slain by a boar while hunting, and wherever his blood touched the ground a rose grew. It represents two warring families, each looking to rule England, in The War of the Roses. And it also inspired William Shakespeare in his play, Romeo and Juliet, which contains one of the most popular quotes on roses: “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

Each rose in this collection is completely handcrafted by myself, where I form and texture each petal so that each rose will look slightly different from the others. This is my intention because no two flowers are ever exactly alike in nature. The only gemstone that is set in the designs is an Orissa garnet, because garnet is the gemstone of love, friendship and affection. In my opinion, i’s the most perfect gemstone to be set in rose jewelry.

You can view all the new rose jewelry here, and be sure to check out the entire Blossoms Collection to see the other spring flowers as well. And don’t forget, Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so maybe this year you might want to think about giving Mom a flower that will stay fresh and beautiful forever?

This is not the end of this collection. Over the summer months, a few more designs will be added, so if you want to be one of the first to find out what they may be, join my Insider’s Club! They get all the best information first!
